Winter Show 2026: Spectacular Results

What a show. The SCOCSA Winter Show 2026 drew an outstanding display of orchid excellence, with members presenting some of the finest blooms seen at our annual winter event. From the moment the doors opened, it was clear this was going to be a very special occasion.

After careful judging, the results are in — and what results they are.

The highest honour of the show went to Oncidium Sunblest, which swept three titles in one extraordinary performance: Grand Champion, Champion Open Division, and Champion Oncidiinae. A breathtaking plant that drew admiration from judges and visitors alike, it was a worthy winner of the show's top prize.

Ptst. repanda claimed a triple honour, taking out both Champion First Division and Champion Species & Any Other Genus. This elegant species orchid demonstrated exactly why species plants continue to captivate growers — pure, natural beauty at its finest.

Arthurara Sea Snake 'Unforgettable' lived up to its name, delivering an unforgettable performance to claim Champion Second Division. A striking hybrid that commanded attention throughout the show bench.

The slipper orchid class produced a worthy champion in Paphiopedilum insigne — a classic species that showcased the timeless appeal of the Paphiopedilum genus.

Cymbidium Deathwish 'Speckled Spectre' took out the Cymbidium title with a dramatic and eye-catching display. The name says it all — this plant made a bold statement on the show bench.

The future of our collection looks bright. Rth. Love Sound × Rlc. Little Toshie claimed Champion Seedling, a promising cross that hints at great things to come as it matures.

Our native orchid class produced a standout winner in Dendrobium Cosmic Cassidy — a beautiful reminder of the incredible diversity of Australian native orchids and the skill of our members in cultivating them.

Zygopetalum Npp. Grenfell's Freckles 'Phoenix' rose to the occasion in the Zygopetalinae class, delivering a rich, fragrant display that was hard to overlook.

Pcv. Golden Peacock brought warmth and colour to the Laelinae class, claiming the champion title with a display that lived up to its regal name.

Rounding out the champions, Dendrobium Aussie Victory 'Flagstaff' took the Specimen Plant title — a magnificent, well-grown plant that demonstrated the rewards of patient, dedicated cultivation.

Phal. Unknown claimed the Phalaenopsis title, a beautiful moth orchid that drew well-deserved attention on the show bench.

A huge thank you to everyone who entered, volunteered, and attended the Winter Show 2026. Events like this are the heart of our club, and it's the enthusiasm and dedication of our members that makes them so special.
